A day at Bowcraft – Mountainside, NJ

img_9601.jpg Bowcraft is a little amusement park on Route 22 in Mountainside/Scotch Plains, NJ. They have a lot of great rides for such a small amount of real estate on a busy highway.

Here are some pics.

A brief tour of the Delaware Water Gap

img_9184.jpg We took a great tour today of a small portion of the Delaware Water Gap. We saw; Shawnee on the Delaware, Resort Point Overlook, The Point of the Gap, Cold Air Cave, Appalachian Trail, The Old Stone House, Castle Inn, Historic Shawnee Church, Indian Head, and the homes of some old school celebrities. It is definitely worth taking the Water Gap Trolley in Pennsylvania. Here are some pics.

Shad Fest ’07 – Lambertville, NJ

Today was the 2007 Shad Fest in Lambertville, NJ. Lambertville is a quaint little town on the other side of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Matt also happens to work in Lambertville. What is a Shad? “The shads or river herrings comprise the genus Alosa, fishes related to herring in the family Clupeidae. They are distinct from others in that family by having a deeper body and spawning in rivers. The several species frequent different areas on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Mediterranean Sea. The shad fry live for a year or two in fresh water.” -Compliments if Wikipedia

We were able to stop by Matt’s favorite micro brew, River Horse. The best beer ever made is Tripel Horse by the aforesaid mentioned brewery, it’s a 10% alcohol Belgian style dark beer. Full of flavor and packs a punch.

Another trip to the AMNH – 50mm

We took another trip to the American Museum of Natural History. We braved the terrible weather and were well rewarded. Matt shot it with a 50mm lens, this is only worth mentioning because he shot it with a 15mm fisheye last time. It’s a nice contrast.
